Method description for IHC detection of macrophage markers in muscle cross-setions
1) The biopsy
2) A primary antibody specific for the target protein is added
3) A secondary antibody is added. The secondary antibody is specific for the Fc region of the primary antibody and is tagged with a fluorescent dye.
4) The fluorescent dye emits coloured light when excited by light of the right wavelength and can thus be detected with a fluorescence microscope.
